[V16 and 17] Creating file I/O Manager...

ENunn wrote on 12/8/2019, 11:06 PM

I can't use Vegas anymore.

I had a weird issue where my Vegas 17 would freeze when I clicked "render as", so I reinstalled and now it's hanging at "Creating file I/O Manager...". I really don't know what to do.

I've reinstalled like 5 times, rebooted, ran as admin, did compatibility mode, terminated the File I/O Surrogate in task manager (all it did was crash vegas). Same thing happens in Vegas 16.

The only other thing I can think of is roll back my GPU driver but it worked just fine yesterday.

I don't know what to do.

Motherboard - ASUS Prime Z390-A

CPU- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz

GPU - Zotac NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 6 GB

RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3000MHz C15

SSD - Samsung 960 EVO 500GB M.2

HDD - Seagate BarraCuda 2TB Internal Hard Drive

OS - Windows 10

Does anyone know a fix? I'm getting really tired of this...

@ENunn - Yeah, I hear yah! Working yesterday and not now? I’d be checking rogue M$ Updates that have got by you. How’s your FREE space on your Drives? Can you open Task Manager and see where the usage is going? Heat? Something is definitely messing with yah?

yeah its really odd, my drives are quite low but it hasn't effected anything. heats fine and everything else is fine.

looks like i've fixed it by uninstalling a random program that probably had nothing to do with the issue. haha stuff makes no sense sometimes

i'll probably post back if i ever have the issue again

To me it looks that problem is related that the program is not able to make a good choice for this option with settings

Which drivers are installed for your GPU, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060?
