Hi, I've just upgraded to V19 from V17 and although it fires up it goes straight into 'Problem Report' The Problem description comes up with the info below. There seems a lot of stuff on the web about this but wanted to check here first before heading down a rabbit hole. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Phil

In this case, Windows crashed. Were there more details listed? You might try updating your drivers.

Does your computer meet the minimum specifications for the media that you are using in Vegas Pro 19? As per:

Windows was unaffected, just Vegas. The thing is I was using it yesterday after first loading and it purred. Handle some 4K footage without a hitch. Strike it up today and I get this error. I'm using Win 10 and all is up to date, the computer spec is fine. I'm using a GTX graphics card with an i7 processor and plenty of RAM. Initially I had an issue loading Vegas Stream which after closing down the firewalls installed okay.

Bit of a loss as to what to do?

Philuk wrote on 9/3/2021, 10:27 AM

Update for anyone suffering with this, I think I managed to find a work around. Rather than import media via the 'Import Media' button on the tool bar, click on the arrow which brings up the menu below for 'Explore your hard drives' 'Import from cameras' etc' The footage comes in without a problem and in fact the 'Import Media' will then work too! Very odd.

Forget that last post it's still crashing!

I've posted an email to Support and I'll update here it they find a fix.

For those interested this is my system spec

Maybe worth looking inside the grovel files for issues identified, they can be found:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\19.0

(Intel 3rd gen i5@4.1GHz, 32GB RAM, SSD, 1080Ti GPU, Windows 10) Not now used with Vegas.

13th gen i913900K - water cooled, 96GB RAM, 4TB M2 drive, 4TB games SSD, 2TB video SSD, GPU RTX 4080 Super, Windows 11 pro

Thanks Andy, I've checked and found five errors, although I'm not sure they maybe something unrelated to my .dll issue.

I've cut and paste below. Hopefully someone on here can decipher them?

Cheers

All these relate to OFX plugins which can be temporarily removed from the plugins folder to see if this improves the situation. Are these the only errors from all the grovel files?

andyrpsmith wrote on 9/9/2021, 3:32 AM

I have a GTX 1080Ti running fine with V19 with the current studio driver - make sure you have this installed it is 471.68.

andyrpsmith wrote on 9/9/2021, 3:39 AM

Note that Kernelbase.dll is a windows (not Vegas) system file so it may take a while to find the culprit causing the issue. Always look to see if all drivers are up to date for both your CPU (and its GPU element) as well as your external GPU. Also Microsoft frame.net can cause many issues if it is not the right version the system is looking for.

Philuk wrote on 9/10/2021, 5:27 AM

Thanks Andy, yes I'm aware most of these issues are Windows based. I've spent the day updating driver etc, but it's still crashing. I'm sure it will resolve itself at some point, sadly not heard back from Vegas support which is slightly disappointing.

@Philuk
Do a complete reset of Vegas VPro 19 following this exactly ,
after that without changing options place here a screenshot of Help/Check for Driver updates

Here you go.

j-v wrote on 9/10/2021, 9:21 AM

- You have to update your Intel GPU to the latest driver for your Intel 630 GPU and that is nr. 30.0.100.9684

- for the Nvidia GPU it is better for Vegas Pro to use the latest Nvidia Studio driver, that is nr. 30.0.14.7168

If those drivers are installed, do again that reset and don't change the made options for Preferences/Video and Preferences/File I/O.
Report here if it helped you or report other problems that arise.

So...I've managed to update the Nvidia to Studio driver without an issue. The Intel 630 on the other hand is proving more elusive. I've tagged a jpeg from the Intel support page, so I'm stuck with what to do, it's still coming up with kernal error.

Any help would be gratefully received.

j-v wrote on 9/12/2021, 11:22 AM

Intel changed her system and therefore Vpro 19 is not able to show you at the Help the newest drivers.
You can try to update by hand or with the use of the Intel® Driver & Support Assistant.

The same problem Vegas 18 works fine, I'm running a Alienware laptop I9 processors etc. But Vegas 19 just crashes when setting up the windows, has never run. Why 18 is fine and 19 will not start?

@steve-h5836
Did you already try a complete reset of the program following exactly this tutorial?

Just when I thought the new patch was working, it now seems to constantly crash. I'm going to roll back; if that doesn't work I'll have to leave it till Magix find a work around. Thanks all to everyone who helped me here.

Philuk wrote on 10/19/2021, 6:12 AM

I thought I would post a quick update. Thankfully everything is running perfectly!

Not sure what happened, whether a couple of system restarts and the patch finally stuck but it's singing running build 381. It's handling 4K footage a lot better than 17 (I skipped 18). The only thing which I hope the developers will work on is the quality of the monitored image. Compared to Devinci or Ad Prem the playback quality of the image is not as detailed or true to the actual footage. It's fine for editing, but trying to work out the grade and final outputted render is a bit tricky to gauge.

Other than that really pleased, and thanks for those who replied.

Cheers

Phil

Setting the preview screen to Best full (if your PC/GPU) is powerful enough and settings to full range will show the detailed actual footage as it will be rendered.
