V22 says NB colorfast 2 "not installed on this system"

Mindmatter wrote on 11/24/2024, 3:03 PM

I've been uninstalling, rebooting, reinstalling both V22 and my NewBlue plugins several times now, reactivting the NBs too, and V22 keeps telling my colorfast and saturation EQ ist not installed on my system. It happened after I updated colorfast 2. The whole NB filters 5 ultimate package seems to be misssing.
In the NB app manager, evertything is running and active.

It's solved. NB got back to me real fast, and told me to :

1) Close Vegas
2) Delete plugin_manager_cache.bin and svfx_plugin_cache.bin from
C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\<version>,
3) Then retest.

Just leaving this here in case someone else runs into the issue.

Maybe you should mark this as the solution...

I said "solved" too early I'm afraid...now there's a watermark.
I now have to delete those 2 files before opening Vegas every time to get rid of the watermark. Both in V21 and V22.
It started when I updated colorfast 2. I then deleted it and reinstalled the old version, still the same problem.
Support says they don't know what the issue could be.Googling it, I find all kinds of workarounds, which all don't work. Someone suggested that it's their app manager, but there seems to be no standalone update for it.

In (the excellent) Color Fast 2's VideoFX window in VP, if you hit the Activate button which takes you to NB's Application Manager, does clicking on the cogwheel and selecting 'Reactivate Products' remove the watermark after clicking away and then back to the video event which has CF2 applied? And does that reactivation 'stick' without a watermark after closing and re-opening the Vegas Pro project?

We believe we have now found the reason behind the activation issues. Please download this file:

https://files.newbluefx.com/Win/support/PluginManager64-241127.zip

and place the file in the zip file into:
C:\Program Files\NewBlueFX\Common\

Then retest in VEGAS.

I tried everything possible. Uninstall, reinstall, deactivate, reactivate, via the website, via the app manager etc etc.
Only thing that works so far is deleting the .bin files before starting Vegas.

That would be awesome! I'm not at my workstation right now, I'll try that first thing tomorrow.

The new Plugin Manager .dll file has fixed the watermark problem for me.
