V4.0c Locks up when setting up tracks for new proj.

Vegas is locking up on me when adding tracks and assigning record routing.
after i get about 10-16 tracks into it...vegas & windows XP will slow to a crawl, sometimes locking up tight. Only a reboot solves it, then when it DOES reboot, my keyboard/mouse don't work, and i have to reboot one more time to clear THAT up.

When assigning the tracks, i am NOT using input monitor.

Is anyone getting this in vegas or is it my system:
AMD 2500
512mb ram
Asus A7V8 mobo
Mobo has onboard sound, but it is Disabled.

TIA

i also have experienced this. using vegas 3 i have no problems, (other than not being able to record in 24 bit) but vegas 4 is incredibly buggy on my system- celeron 1.1 ,512 mb ram.2 st audio c-ports for 16 input channels, a modem. i know it's no powerhouse, but i can record 16 channels of input all night with no problem in vegas 3

Also...forgot this, but i AM using an ADAT via lightpipe to add another 8 inputs to the Layla box when this is happening.

It does not happen all the time, just on occasion. I have never notice this problem when only using Layla and NOT the ADAT input.

Hi,
I am getting the same problem also (PC Freezing up while trying to set which inputs to use on a new project). I have tried with Input Monitor and without. I have also tried saving the project after every change I made to the inputs and it still freezes up.

PC Details:
XP Home
P4 2.2
512 ram
Motu 24i/o PCI Sound Card

Is this a known problem to Sonic Foundry?
Is there an update, or will this be addressed in future Updates?
Is there anything I can do on my end to stop this?

Thanks in advance for any light that can be shed my way.
Jim
