We have a large networked drive that contains our entire sound FX collection converted to WAVs (there are thousands of them). I tend to prefer to use Windows' own Search function to find the effects I need, then drag them into the Vegas media pool from the search results - instead of using Vegas' own Explorer because the latter doesn't allow me to Search. Up until V3 this has worked well. Vegas 4 introduced Media Bins, which are a blessing. They really make my work easier.
At least they should. However, I've noticed some strange problems when I drag media into the bins. If I have a bin open and drag samples into the sample list from a directory window or Search Results, the samples go to the right place, but are strangely "wrapped around" - there's a bit of the sample's beginning in the end of the sample.
Furthermore, if I try to drag samples directly into a bin the Media Bins tree, all the bins' contents get mixed up. Trying to correct the mess by deleting and moving media will crash Vegas.
