V4 is very stable on my dual DS2416 system. It must be something else causing your problems.

I have tested recording with the Yamaha DSPF in Vegas 4 and it works correctly with ASIO or Wave Classic Drivers.

What drivers are you using in Vegas 4? ASIO or Wave Classic?
What bit depth and sample rate are you recording at?

I don't use C-Console, so I don't know what that could do to cause problems. I would recommend you try with out C-Console.

Thankx Peter
I will recoard 8-16 channal sound,
I got AX-16 card with DSPF for multi recoarding.
So it must use C-Consel to patch I/O.
and V4 must set ASIO driver that can recoard 16 ch(I think),
if VV3 only can recoard 8 ch at the same time.

I don't know if this will help you, but it certainly won't hurt. I had a similar problem recording in V4 when I first got it, and not in V3. I was running Windows XP also. I ended up doing a "Windows Update". The update upgraded my OS to SP1, and it detected that there was an updated driver for my video card. So I updated those two things, and Vegas started functioning properly for me. So initially, I thought it might have been a V4 problem, since I had no problems with V3, but I soon learned afterwards that was not quite the case.

I think VEGAS do not like C-Console !!
pwppch wrote on 9/19/2003, 4:51 PM
That is entirely possible. We don't have it in house, so I would recommend you contact C-Mexx. They do have licenses' of Vegas from us. If they have issues, you can tell them to contact me directly at

phaller@sonypictures.com

I did email them concerning this issue.
