you can use NRS on a section of a project and still continue working on the same VEG .. NRS creates a temp copy of your VEG and then renders out either whole project or section you highlighted. while NRS is rendering you can still continue to edit the project any changes will not show up in the NRS render that is under way.
Is there anymore detail on the website about how network rendering works and what you have to do to enable it on rendering a project?
Do you need to break it down into smaller sections or can Vegas5 do that for you?
Also you web site mentions that Vegas 5 can now utilize dual processors. Would that be similar to the network rendering or is it a totally seamless feature?
I would be very interested in seeing more detailed information on these topics.
That's too bad. I would be interested in Network rendering if it
could help me edit and composite effects faster. A few light ray
plugins and it can take me 15 minutes to do a selective pre-render
so I know what the composite really looks like. I hope the network
rendering will become useful for editing in a future update.
There is no supplemental information for network rendering yet.
You do not need to break down your project... the net render service
will do that for you when you choose to distribute a rendering job.
You can also choose not to distribute a rendering job which may be the
best option when you want to just render on a background machine or
render to multiple output formats and/or bit-rates.
Dual processor utilization is independent of network rendering.
