V5 preview window prob.

Hi, In Vegas 5, this is the first time I noticed this, but when I have my preview window quality set to Good, or Best, and I go to pan/crop, and zoom into the video, a bunch of annoying horizontal lines appear on the video (preview). This didn't happen in V4. The lines don't appear in track motion either...just pan/crop. It's really annoying, and any help would be appreciated. thanks.

Chances are, you are seeing the half-frame interpolated. With Bezier masking you need to see each frame clearly/fully, and I think there is an issue with the way half frames are presented

So this a problem w/ Vegas, not w/ me right? It's strange, the lines don't appear when I'm in preview quality, just good or best. Thanks for the help, just making sure it wasn't something I was doing wrong.

it happens to me too when i'm in good or best. best thing for masking is in the preview mode. maybe sony will include the correction in the 'b' version. pray my brutha.... pray.

Are you positive this doesn't occur in V4?

Here's how the video preview quality settings deal with fields in both V4 and V5:

Quality: Best
Scaling: bi-cubic with integration
Field Handling: on
Field Rendering: on (setting dependent)
Framerate Resample/IFR: on (switch dependent)

Quality: Good
Scaling: bi-linear
Field Handling: on
Field Rendering: on (setting dependent)
Framerate Resample/IFR: on (switch dependent)

Quality: Preview
Scaling: bi-linear
Field Handling: off
Field Rendering: off
Framerate Resample/IFR: off

Quality: Draft
Scaling: point sample
Field Handling: off
Field Rendering: off
Framerate Resample/IFR: off
