In the Vegas 6 new features list, it says that frame rate conversion is improved. I understand that this improves things like 60i to 24p conversion and slow motion effects. What is the technical difference between v5 and v6 frame rate conversion?
Yes -- this would be great to have a more in-depth understanding of beyond marketing hype. A technical "article," like the one on the improved rendertimes as done by the engineer here some time ago would be wonderful -- no "secrets" revealed, just generalized info on optimizations from V5 to 6.
I hate to bump topics, but I'd really like to know what the difference is in how version 6 handles frame rate conversion. Does anybody know? I've done a number of searches and can't find the answer anywhere.
Dude, I have no clue how. I just know that one of the Sony developers said they tweaked the algo for frame rate conversions once before. Maybe they will chime in on the thread and let us know.
