V7d Memory issue?

I've had weeks' worth of troubleshooting V7c as per lots of recent posts.... After a super clean reinstall (via Sony support instructions) a huge improvement in stability but still not totally right...

I was so glad to see an update to 7d and immediately downlaoded, did another "clean" install by removing V7c beforehand

Open a project V7d using my previously troublesome CFDIs (ConnectHD) and had a great time editing, generating music, WOW finally Cinescore is working right. Had one crash that evening, unexpected after rendering but a hell of a lot better than 20+ crashes a session with V7c.

Tonight I have rendered fairly simple 8 min. CFDI clips two times and each time the render has completed but V7d gives an error report the first time and the second time as I was watching closely it completed the render then just disappeared.

The whole time it was rendering (about 17min) I had my eyes glued to the task mgr. With V7c and now with version "d"
I still sensed something was getting stuck/bogged down, whatever.

When the render first started the CPU jumped to a full 100% (on a fast machine) and after about 20 seconds fell down to a very low
2-6% for the most part, and at the same time I noticed that my 'active' preview window was stopped and would only change the frame every minute (?) or so....in other words it looked stuck for the most part.
Meanwhile, the CPU reads very low numbers but my memory useage was almost a steady 224,000+k which was way above all else. This held all the way to the end of the render until Vegas diasppeared without an error report this time.

Would this indicate what might be bogging the system in some way that makes it quit at the end of a render?

I have 4 GB memory installed, dual core AMD, etc.....never had problems before V7 but keep wondering what is causing this instability for so many of us.

p.s I have been able to reload Vegas with the autosave both times, but I'm also getting very vigilant about "saving" before I hit the render button....been burned too many times losing my edits...with a crash.

I've reopened and am generating about 8 min of
Cinescore music and my memory usage is reading 125,000K just about half of what V7d used while rendering.
