V8 and H.264 clips - audio/video out of sync.

Liam_Vegas wrote on 10/12/2007, 4:19 PM
I have some video clips that are encoded with h.264. In Vegas 7 the clips are perfectly synchronized - audio/video are perfect (on timeline and rendered playback)

I have the identical clip in Vp8 and the video is out of sync with the audio. This is not just a "latency issue" with the playback on the timeline. Rendered clips are out of sync.

Anyone else see this same issue?

Thanks

Have you tried rendering to mpg2 or other video formats ?
I've had the same problem with mpg4 a few days ago.
However it turned out there was a problem with the source (VOB files in my case).
Although they would play back fine on the timeline when I rendered out as mpg2 or mpg4 there was a considerable time lag between audio and video.

In the end I imported the VOB files by using "File->Import->DVD camcorder disk" and all was fine.
Hope this helps.

I had the exact same problem in V8 (trial). QuickTime clips in h.264 format were out of sync with approx. 100 frames, all other formats works. My Movie Studio 7 works perfectly.

The solution I found was to copy the qt7plug.dll from the Movie Studios FileIO Plug-ins\qt7plug folder (in my case version 1.0.0.294) and replacing the newer version in V8's corresponding folder (version 1.0.0.2375) After starting V8 again, h.264 clips are in perfect sync again.

I imagine this would work with other versions of Vegas as well, as it seems to be a bug in the qt7plug.dll

We believe this issue was resolved in Vegas Pro 8.0a, which is now available for download from the updates section of our website.

Yes.... I installed Vp8a (before trying the suggestion posted here) and I can confirm this issue is now resolved.

Thank you.
