V9 64bit text issue

Anyone have any problems with the default Sony Text generator with V9 64 bit? I have completed the editing of 24 20 minute videos, and while doing VO noticed what looks all the world like analog video noise on some of the text in the rendered avi files. (I am rendering the video with all text etc. and using the resulting avi so that I can get 29.97 fps for the VO work .) I am using the Aharoni font in the default Sony Text generator. I have determined that the problem is perfectly repeatable. This shows up in both the 9.0d and 9.0e 64 bit versions. Fortunately the problem does not exist in the 32 bit versions. This means that I will have to re-render all 24 shows at ~1.5 hours each since I don't know which shows were rendered with which version. Sheesh!

Also, anyone noticed any problems with the placement of markers? They seem to be off up to 2 seconds when I pull the avi into DVDA. Does not seem to matter which version. What next??

Jerry

I haven't seen the first problem, but as to the second, a DVD can only place a chapter at an i-frame. Why are you sending the AVI file to DVDA? You should be encoding the Mpeg-2 video and ac3 audio files in Vegas Pro. Not only do you have more control of the encoding process, the encoder will force an i-frame at the marker location.

I am disappointed that you don't see the text problem. I am in the process of re-rendering all my projects using V9 32 bit and when that is done I will investigate this issue further. I did neglect to mention that I am running Win 7 Pro 64bit.

I pulled the avi into DVDA just to check if the markers were even close to the correct position. I noticed that they were off by as much as 3-4 seconds when I had the avi on the Vegas timeline while doing the VO. (I rendered the avi inclulding markers.) Since they were incorrect in the avi on the timeline, I just wanted to confirm that they were off when I pulled it into DVDA. I always encode my avis using Vegas, never in DVDA.

As a side note: I discovered that the export markers script does put them in the (near) correct positions. But, I found that when I ran the script the resulting sfl file contained 2 sets of markers, the original (incorrect) markers along with the new (correct) ones. I just have to figure out how to address this issue.
