v9 audio 'clicks' after media offline

ok, i went back to my latest, rather lengthy project after rough cutting it in 8.

9 does render much faster, and so far has behaved - well, a couple of crashes, one for inexplicable reasons (sent error report automatically to sony - nice touch, especially if someone actually looks into it!) the other (and repeatable without the crash).....

nothing unusual on t/l - m2t and mxf - both displaying an annoying 'run-up' to full frame rate, but once the projects run through, it's ok. (in 8 i can hop anywhere after loading and get full rate instantly). btw, both in preview - auto, and 9 with auto preview quality/rate turned off - perhaps a good idea, if it worked!). anyway, if i open up another app (eg ps, or sf) to do some corrective work, when i come back to 9 and my 'off-line' media have come back - the audio has intermittent, random 'clicks' in it.

these clicks, for want of a better description, remain in place till the project is shut and disappear on re-opening. it's very distracting to say the least.

also, it takes an inordinately long time for the media to come back online, three to four times that of 8?

other than that, and the other bugs that have already been well aired here and i'm now aware of, i have to say 9 is shaping up quite nicely... however, these problems, especially the audio clicks are somewhat of a distraction to getting the job done.

Sounds like the project is somehow loosing the samplerate setting in the audio interface. Clicks are mostly the result of sample rate missmatches.

evening bob,

i see from your replies you're alive and kicking tonight ;-)

there's not that many, i mean, say every minute or so (they're not predictable nor repetitive)...

don't suppose there's any work around for it if the media has gone off-line then back on?

evening leslie,

I don't know of any workaround. I used to have this problem when I had Windows Sounds enabled on a system. They'd set my firewire 410 to 44.1KHz and when Vegas got control of it back things would get wonky. I solved this by killing of all the beeps and bops in Windows.

And now it's goodnight from,
Bob.

morning there,

came back just to play around with some audio and found that i sometimes (not always though), get 'pops' on the edits between mxf and m2t clips. doesn't always happen, but it does with more regularity than i care for.

of course, close down, open up same project, pops gone?

could it be a mis-match in audio sampling between mxf and m2t?
