V9 - Is Help Broken?

InterceptPoint wrote on 6/4/2009, 7:49 AM
Help/Contents & Index and Help/Keyboard Shortcuts don't work on my installation of V9. I installed the trial version, bought the boxed version and registered my serial number.

Am I doing something wrong?
Do I need to uninstall the trial and reinstall via the V9 DVD?
Are there help files that need to be copied to my current installation from the DVD?

Nope, not broken--works fine for me.

Did you install the trial version or the official version?
Jay Gladwell wrote on 6/4/2009, 10:40 AM

It's both. The trial version is the official version. Once I paid for it, it was no longer a trial version.

OK - that's exactly what I did. Installed the trial and then bought the official version and just registered it with my S/N. But mine does not work. Looks like re-install time.

The help doesnt work for me either. Do you have Vista 64 bit?

Do you have Internet Explorer 8 installed?

I have a hunch this is the problem.

Yes I am running Vista 64 bit but my IE, which I never use, is version 7.

I have the same problem

Vista 64 bit latest updates

- Vegas 9 32-bit has help

- Vegas 9 64-bit does not.

Strange

Also,

Cinescore is in Vegas 9, 32 bit, but not the 64-bit.

That is correct! Direct copy from the "release notes"

The following features are not available in the 64-bit version of Vegas 9.0. If you need to use the following features, you can share projects between 32- and 64-bit versions of Vegas 9.0 installations, performing editing as needed in 32-bit Vegas 9.0 and finishing the project in 64-bit Vegas 9.0:

* Rendering templates created in 32-bit Vegas 9.0 are not available in 64-bit Vegas 9.0.
* Cinescore support is not available.
* Gracenote support is not available.
* AAF import and export are not available.
* Third-party plug-ins will work only if they are 64-bit plug-ins. Please check with the plug-in vendor for available updates.

Hopefully they will have a updated cinescore coming out soon.

What about the Help? I have to open V9 32bit to use

I reported this issue with the 64-bit trial version here.

After numerous interactions with SCS tech support a clean uninstall of all SONY applications was required following these instructions:

Yikes. That is bit much just to get the rarely used help back. Hopefully this will get fixed in 9a-64bit.
