vaio with vista

got new sony vaio with windows vista. installed cd arch 5.2d. problem is will not let me extract audio from cd's. says cd drive not supported. any ideas ??

Possibly to do with CDA/Vista-compatibilty - have you tried compatibiIity modes ?

However think VAIOs do some pretty dodgy proprietry stuff ( maybe with the CD-R driver in this case) , and are often recommended against for serious audio work.

Possibly they excel in trivial 'entertainment' type use.

Or the VAIO could be broken.
