VASST ACID for Non-Linear Editors shipping yet?

JohnnyRoy wrote on 4/28/2004, 5:10 PM
I pre-ordered ACID for Non-Linear Editors back on April 12th and it was supposed to start shipping on the 19th according to the VASST web site. Has anyone gotten their DVD’s yet? Did they even ship? I sent an email to support at vasst dot com like my order confirmation said to if I had any questions but haven’t heard back yet. I was hoping I‘d have it for this weekend. Just curious if it shipped yet.

Yep, fulfillment shipped them on Tuesday of this week. Now that NAB is over, they can finally catch up on our shipments! Thanks for the support, JR.

why international shipping is so expensive? I usually pay 7-10 $ for dvds. Dont need dhl for a dvd.

We're pretty displeased with our fulfillment house' international shipping policy, and our Operations Director had a long chat with them about it just yesterday. We're working on a fast resolution as there are a lot of disks going to Europe and Australia.
Jazzvalve, glad you like the Photoshop. That's almost 6 hours of information there, and dang, it was a hard disk to do. Had to be PC and Apple-directed because Photoshop does both. Watch for ACID coming to you any day now that it's started shipping. Same with Sound Forge, DVD Workshop 2.0, and Cool 3D/Killer Graphics & Lower Thirds.

Aha!! I'll stop wondering where my SoundForge disc is.

Thanks Spot

JohnnyRoy,

Now that I am converted to Acid I would love your review of the VASST DVD when you get it. I definitey want to get up to speed quickly with Acid but specifically for use in corporate and wedding stuff.

Monica, Tom, and others who let us know how you feel about the international shipping from our provider;
Thanks!!
We worked out a deal with them today. Only overnight is now $25.00, standard is $10.00. It's supposed to be implemented immediately, so you should see that change shortly.

Are you saying the Sound Forge DVDs have started shipping already?
Spot|DSE wrote on 4/29/2004, 10:14 AM
Nope, Sound Forge starts shipping on May 10, if the replicator stays on schedule. Same with Cool 3D, and DVDworkshop.

Tom, You bet! I just picked up a copy of ACID Pro 4.0 a few weeks ago so I’m also looking to get up and running quickly. I’ll be sure to let you know what I think.

JohnnyRoy,
There is actually a video tutorial on VTC (www.vtc.com) which I have subscribed to on and off for over a year. They have only one tutorial called Acid Pro Total Production Essentials. It even had a brief section on Vegas (version3). I have requested they get more Vegas stuff there but we would need to get a ground swell going. Maybe DSE will port his stuff over there too or offer a similar streaming version that is a little cheaper than the DVD. I know I am such a cheap skate-- actually not I am just poor.

Anyway their one video on Acid now makes more sense to me after just playing with the loops in Vegas 5. The narration is painfully slow though. That is the only problem with some of these tutorials. They are narrating as they go and some of the comments they make are just... YAWN, sorry, dozing off. VTC charges $25 a month to watch any movie on their site. Which is a great deal if you have a good connection (broadband is great)

Really good news on the international shipping costs...now I can give you guys more money (and less to the shipping guys...) Ok, now I need to decide what I want/need...

cheers,

Paul.

Ps, It would be cool if Sony could do the same: I really want to get some more Acid loops but hate to pay those shipping charges (especially when on some deals people in the US get the shipping form free...humph humph, me feels left out)

I felt a review on the ACID for Non-Linear Editors DVD deserved its own topic so I’ve started a new thread. You can read my review here.
