VCD production

Hi,

Im produced a 10 min video from a recent family wedding and after showing it to everyone they all want their own copy plus more to give away. The problem i have is that to give out about 30 DVD is expensive. So id like to make a VCD of it and give that away. I rendered a SVCD MPG file and used NEro to make the SVCD and it plays on the TV but i have a small problem.

the original video is widescreen, and I wanted the VCD to be widescreen/letterboxed. when i play it back on my TV the image is letterboxed but seems to be squashed down/stretched out.

is it possible to make widescreen SVCDs ? is there a trick to it ?

Can anyone recommend any easy and simple DVD to SVCD converters ? (click and go .. no copy protection issues etc ..)

Regards
Jaime

You''re probabally going to have problems giving yourfriends & relatives a SVCD, cause it does not "play" on a lot of DVD players!

You might have 30 people calling you as to that fact.

Either burn the CD's to a VCD format (most players will play a VCD) or spend the money and burn DVD-R's (most players will play these too, but older ones will not play DVD+R's)

For the ones who don't have DVD players give them a simple MPEG 1. That will play on just about any computer with Windows Media Player.
As for the letterbox problem, one possible solution is to crop the origional to a 4:3 format. Then re-render it. It won't affect the origional.
