vegas users,

i just want to compare what quality you got burning vcds from vegas to commercial vcds in the market.

Commercial VCDs quality are of course different from each other but i just wonder why i got lower quality(but not much) using vegas( or is it main concept)....using the default settings.

Does anyone got better quality?

For commercial VCDs i noticed this flickering edges of a shape...especially small objects.......looks to me that it is normal with MPEG1 quality. Well, same with vegas of course.

Any thoughts out there.
Regards,
rommel

VCD is pretty low res, I've made VCD from studio masters on SP and the results are pretty good, easily as good as VHS. Problems start when the source quality drops.
With such a low bitrate the slightest bit of noise causes the encoder to waste bandwidth encoding the noise. You may be able to improve things by using a SMALL amount of blur on the source prior to encoding.

I've found TMPGEnc gives slightly better results with poor quality source, with very good quality source there's not much difference.
