.VEG transparency problem

Hope someone can help, i'm trying to bring in a .veg file into another veg file i'm working on however when I drag it it brings with it a black background but its suppose to be transparent. Please help. Thanks and cheers!

I just did a very quick test:

1] Created a VEG with the Sony Sample Text generated media -this HAS a transparent BG

2] Saved as Veg TEXT Test.veg

3] Opened another INSTANCE of Vegas and imported the Veg TEXT Test.veg into it

4] So now in NEW instance:

i) Track 1 - Veg TEXT Test.veg
ii) Track 2 - Sony Test Pattern 1

Result - "Sample Text" ( that is the Veg TEXT Test.veg ) is seen with the "Sony Test Pattern 1" behind.

Need to know more detail on your original VEG? Please? Have you checked to see IF it is in fact transparent? Have you placed anything underneath it? I'm guessing you have? Otherwise you wouldn't be asking the question?

Hi Grazie, thanks for trying to help. I did exactly what you outlined above and still had a black background on the VEG text test. I did not put any background and the text on the timeline is indeed transparent but when I import the VEG file and put it on the project media window it then gets a balck background. ???? Weird!
