I had been testing Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0b with both SD and HD video. I upgraded to 10.0 and found that when I rendered SD video (previously saved 9.0b and new projects) the resulting file was jittery. Specifically, if you went frame by frame in a panning scene, you would see the frame move right, then back left a bit, then right, then back left, etc. The quality is unbearable. I'm rendering as Sony AVC - Memory Stick SD NTSC - 6256 Kbps.
Before I rendered anything in 10.0, I noticed that my .dv files were showing in the Project Explorer as Field Order = None (progressive scan), when I know for sure that this is interlaced video. To make sure I wasn't going crazy, I installed 9.0b on another computer and verified that it does show as Field Order = Lower field first.
I've tried changing the Project Properties to force it to Field Order: Lower (Template: NTSC DV (720x480, 29.970 fps)) as well as every other Project Property and Render setting that I could try. But nothing works with 10.0.
Anyone else experiencing this or have a workaround? I thought about using a 3rd party program to convert everything to progressive but I really don't want to lose my interlacing and I have about 200 GB of SD video left to edit and don't want to waste the time/space.
