vegas 11 audio dropping during preview

tsunamipop wrote on 6/10/2013, 5:54 PM
I have put together a couple minutes worth of game footage. About 13 clips at the moment with a music track playing in the background. When I attempt to preview the project the video and audio will play normally, but after about 10 seconds, sometimes more, one of the audios will drop out followed by the other. If there are any preferences or settings I need to mess with, just let me know. I am very new to vegas, so I am just scratching the surface.

Thanks

Tell us about your sound card and drivers in use in Vegas.
Also any audio fx on the timeline, and describe your audio source itself.
Adjusting the audio buffers in Preferences often makes a difference.

I do not have a dedicated sound card, just the onboard sound on my p8z68v pro mother board. There is the Realtek HD audio manager installed. I have had these issues with no fx on the audio at all. The audio sources would be the audio with the game footage captured with wolfcam then converted to .AVI . The music track is an MP3 from my pc. As far as what drivers Vegas is using, I am not sure how to view that, but If someone can direct me I would be glad to share this as well.

Another thing that I have noticed. Once the sound drops if I pause the track and then play it again it will play normally, but only for a few seconds until it drops again.

On the audio preference page, try turning off track buffering.

Went to options/prefernces/audio device(only place i saw track buffering) and unchecked the enable track buffering box. Still drops audio after about 10 seconds.

When the audio drops out, does the meter on the master output bus also stop registering a signal?

Peter, Dunno if related, but on last few releases of V12 I'm back to the old V11-or-older problem of audio glitching whenever , say, a plugin window is opened. As before, no tweaks such as buffering on/off or increasing ASIO buffer seem to make any difference. Certainly my system 2, will check on system 1, and on my laptop.

And also the red recording waveform only updating every 10 seconds or so.

No the meters do not show anything when the audio drops.

Is this problem unique to the media?

Can you record audio or import a track from an audio CD and have it playback normally?

After messing around with some of the clips on my time line I noticed the dark blue triangle at the top of some of the clips were light blue. It looks like i may have put an offset when I first dragged the clips into the timeline. So I just seperated all of my clips and then played the project and it played through completely without an audio drop. But when I put the clips back together It would drop the audio. After removing all of the offsets the clips seem to play fine. I have used offsets before and havn't had any trouble. Any idea why these small offsets caused this problem?

Am still having the same problem. Even after i cleared up the offsets after I saved the project and then returned to it. The issue returned also. Any more ideas?
