Vegas 11 running really SLOW!!!

Been using Vegas 10, but recently downloaded 11 and it's running really really slow. I opened a project I was editing in Vegas 10, and I can barely function with 11. First the Ram preview is really slow. In vegas 10, my computer is powerful enough to be able to go without RAM preview, but with 11 it can't even play a simple clip with no color correction.

I unchecked GPU acceleration, and there's no difference at all. I can't edit with it. Please help, what can I do to get 11 running like 10 was?

Was your version 10 64 bit? Could you have accidentally installed the 32 bit over the 64 bit and now Windows and Vegas are confused?

Check Windows Task Manager (processes) to make sure there aren't processes still running from Vegas 10 or a previously opened project in 11 that are taking up memory. I have had this happen many times since installing 11, and didn't see this behavior when only 10 was installed.

This may or may not be related to the bug I reported to SCS a few weeks ago. I have copied my bug report below.

Are your clips AVCHD format?

===========================
Bug report (2/29/2012)

I have confirmed this to be a problem in both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions running under Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit. I am using an nVidia GeForce 9800GT video card with driver 8.17.12.8562 dated 10/15/2011.

This bug only occurs when "GPU acceleration of video processing" is enabled in the Options -> Preferences -> Video tab.

I can get this to happen every time. It requires a large number of AVCHD 60p files on the timeline (see the attached VEG file). These all come from my Sony CX-700V camcorder.

To make the problem happen, I open the VEG file, and as soon as the video is on the timeline, I start playing using the Best Auto option with the Preview windows sized to 480x270x32, 59.94p. Initially I get smooth 59.94 playback. I then click above the timeline to move the playhead without stopping. I do this while the thumbnails are still being "populated." At some point, I can see the playback "hiccup" (stutter slightly). After that point, even after all the thumbnails have been created, and even after all disk activity (which I see by monitoring the disk light) has ceased, the playback never returns to full speed until I quit and then re-start Vegas.

If I disable the GPU acceleration, this problem does not happen.
