Vegas 12.0 build 770 crash during render

Hello,

Is anyone else suddenly experiencing random crashes during render process in Vegas 12.0 recently?

- I have uninstalled and reinstalled (same result)

- Tried rendering in to different format (same result)

- Tried rendering different projects (same result).

- Crashes with GPU video acceleration on or off.

Has there been some weird windows update that could be causing my rendering crashes?

System info:

AMD FX8350
Nvidia 660TI
Intel 530 SSD (240GB)
(2) WD black 2TB (7200 RPM) hard drives with plenty of free space.
Windows 8.1 (up to date)
16GB of RAM.

Thank you

First, disable your use of GPU and if that does not clear it up - Then the answer is YES you must rollback updates to a much earlier system state. Lesson - disable auto update period.

I have disabled my GPU and the same crash occurred.

I just got this note from windows during a blue screen dump:

"Clock_Watchdog_timeout"

Any ideas how to fix this?

I had some issues a while back, the same as what you're experiencing but without the "Clock_Watchdog_timeout"

Totally did my head in, I had heaps of helpful suggestions from the forum but nothing helped.

Take note of what % the render crashes. It's possible at that point in your timeline there is corrupt footage. e.g if it crashes at 70% then go approx 70% into your timeline and go through the footage, very carefully.

In my case, it was a 1/1000 of a second "Black spot" where the footage went blank. If I blinked I would have missed it. Not sure how it happened but after removing that clip by using another camera angle... problem solved.

Hope it helps!

I guess the error I was getting was related to my cpu. I updated my bios and the issue hasn't occured again (knock on wood ). Thanks to everyone who gave me feedback .
