Vegas 12 and BCC7: no problem

I've seen scattered comments here and elsewhere about BCC7 not working within Vegas Pro 12, whereas BCC8 apparently does. I've used BCC7 with great success in Vegas Pro 11, so I wasn't relishing the loss of BCC7 upon the upgrade to Vegas 12.

Still, I just installed Vegas 12. I copied a Vegas 11 project that has many BCC7 effects, opened the copy in 12, and got an immediate crash. The report listed all the BCC7 filters.

Then I disabled GPU acceleration in 12. The project opened just fine. No problems with BCC7. I even started a new project in 12 with BCC7 filters, tweaked sliders, rendered. Still no problems.

So, it appears that the GPU acceleration feature is broken, at least for my Nvidia card and latest driver. I don't see that BCC7 is a problem with Vegas 12, so far as my limited experience has shown. Anyone with contrary evidence? I'm just trying to avoid a 'gotcha' before getting in too deep with Vegas 12 and BCC7.

I updated to BCC8 because I couldn't make BCC7 work in V12 and because their website and tech support confirmed to me that BCC7 wasn't compatible with V12. I didn't try it without graphics acceleration. I use BCC effects all the time and would hate to have to work without them.

Laurence, what happens when you turn off GPU acceleration in Vegas 12 and use BCC7? I wonder if you and BorisFX reached the same conclusion based upon the Vegas default of having GPU acceleration 'on.' If you need GPU, well, then never mind, as the question becomes academic.

Well I've already updated and don't want to go back to do the test. This would have been really interesting to me a few weeks back though.
