Which driver are you using for your Nvidia card? Try 334.89, I found it to be better then later drivers.

Hey thanks - I tried that and still crashes at "GPU Acceleration on the splash screen" which is the last thing to load.

The appcrash dialog seems to think it's Quicktime:

...not sure if that helps track down the problem.

No not QuickTime (although that's certainly a reasonable guess. Qt (http://qt-project.org/) is a popular UI toolkit used by many of our 3rd-party vendors. It's not part of Vegas itself. I don't see any mention of that DLL in our crash database, so I think nobody else has had that problem (or just hasn't uploaded a crash of it).

If you search your hard drive for "QtCore_x64_4.dll" you'll probably find out pretty quickly which plugin is using that library.

(off topic: Apple doesn't produce a 64-bit version of QuickTime for Windows. That's why we run our QuickTime plugin in the 32-bit FileIOSurrogate.exe helper application and talk to that from 64-bit Vegas)

Hi I removed the offending DLL's (for now) and Vegas will open AND recognises the GPU in prefs. The problem now is that selecting 'render as' crashes straight away with the \SysWOW64\ntdll.dll error.

The \SysWOW64\ntdll.dll file and folder cannot be renamed or deleted.
