Vegas 13 Wave Hammer Surround DEMO?

bigjezza wrote on 4/20/2014, 10:23 AM
Hi, this forum appears more active than the Audio section, so here goes :)

I have just purchased Vegas 13 Suite, and Wave Hammer Surround is displaying DEMO and putting beeps in my audio.

I've tried reinstalling with no improvement.
First time the install order was vegas, sound forge then DVD architect
Second time round after uninstalling was DVD architect, sound forge the vegas
Can I re activate many times on the same machine ID as I try to troubleshoot this?
Does anyone know of a quick fix?

Dumb question but did you re-boot between uninstalling and reinstalling?

bigjezza, that is weird - Wave Hammer Surr works fine here in VP13 / Win7_64sp1 - demo mode should disappear when you have activated with serial number.
Is VP13 showing correct license info when you select menu|Help|About Vegas Pro?
Best to contact Support if you still have problems in this regard.

And, Yes you can reactivate as many time as you like - though eventually that may hiccup, but you just ask Sony for more activations.....

@mike: no dumb questions here lol I wasn't sure so I just tried that

It does show the correct license info
Just then I removed the Sony programs, deleted their folders in programdata, appdata and programfiles+programfiles(x86), the sony registry keys in HKCU, HKLM, (including under wow64node)
Reinstalled only Vegas, the crazy thing still says demo.

I will try an install on my other PC, see what happens
I have already started a ticket with Sony Support...
bigjezza wrote on 4/20/2014, 9:27 PM
It does it on another PC too :(

I've also tried installing as a trial, and running it, then entering my serial. No joy. Heres to hoping Sony respond to my support request soon...

So I finally decided to stay up (I'm in GMT +930) and hop on chat. Jacob will look into this for me, I hope they can reproduce it or something...

Anyone else got a fresh machine that's never seen Vegas, with a 13 Upgrade Serial, feel like doing an install and see if its just me or not? I'm running Windows 8.1 Update 1

Was this resolved? If so, how? I'm having the same issue.

YAY! I am not alone in this world!

It hasn't been resolved. I've gone through all the usual with chat support, fresh installs, etc...
Waiting for a ticket I opened 2 weeks ago to be responded to :(

Well, if misery loves company, you've got some. I tried it on my 8.1 laptop and have the same issue. Assuming (big assumption) that it's a Win 8.1 issue that might help narrow the issue.

How about it folks? Anyone else have this issue? Is there a common denominator?

I have the same problem, DEMO and beeps. Win8.1 machine.
monoparadox wrote on 5/4/2014, 2:06 PM
Reinstalling v.12 activates wavehammer in v.13 and removes the demo mode.

This is at least a workaround. Not sure what the issue is, but doing a web search showed that this issue occurred with SoundForge a few releases ago. One suggestion in that situation was to do a total uninstall of SF, removing registry entries, etc. Not sure whether that totally solved the problem and I'm not in the mood to do it right now with Vegas.

This is a real shame! I need to have installed the Vegas Pro 12 just for the Vegas Pro 13 works well. If the Vegas Pro 12 does everything v13 does, what the purpose of the upgrade?

Loudness meters and improved stability.

Plus, that rumored Easter Egg in Vegas 13 that gives away $100,000 of Sony equipment to the first one who finds it! -- but only in activated versions. ;-)

I do not have a license for Vegas 12 so unfortunately this is not an option for me :(
A-ROB wrote on 6/28/2014, 10:47 PM
Yes, I have SVP 13 as a fresh install on Win 8.1. No other Sony software and also have Wave Hammer in Demo mode. Good grief, does it have to be the one plug-in I use on every single project???
Silverglove wrote on 6/28/2014, 11:23 PM
Did you guys install Sound Forge? The license is authorized via Sound Forge.
NormanPCN wrote on 6/28/2014, 11:47 PM
Reinstalling v.12 activates wave hammer in v.13 and removes the demo mode.

I can reproduce this problem. If V12 is uninstalled then wave hammer instantly goes demo in V13 where it was previously working.

Mine is 64-bit SVP 13. Is everyone having trouble with 64-bit, or is 32-bit also installing Wave Hammer in Demo mode?

Just tried in my W7/64 and it's playing nice(?) little tunes to me ;-0

Vegas is 64-bit only.

SCS support responded with...
"This is already a known issue and is set to be fixed in a future build of Vegas Pro 13. Thank you for reporting the issue."

Lets hope the next build fixes the problem. I won't hold my breath.

I just had this issue when I installed V13 on my laptop the other day. Latest version as of this post's date. It was a new laptop with nothing else installed. Took some time to figure out the beeps were coming from Wave Hammer.

The "solution" was to install my previous version of Vegas (10) on the laptop as well. Then Wave Hammer worked fine in Vegas 13.

I, too, have this demo issue:

My Windows 8.1 freaked itself up and I had to do the reinstall WIN 8 to fix windows but not loose anything. It said I had to reinstall all programs, so, after putting VP13 back on, Hammer is in beep demo mode :(
I never use it - but tried it finally for a 5.1 mix and discovered the demo issue. Have not tried fixing yet.

I have the same problem on a new install of Windows 8.1 with Vegas Pro 13 and Sound Forge Pro 11 installed

I can also confirm that on the old computer it is replacing, also on Win 8.1 with V12 + V13 installed, the DEMO is not showing. Furthermore if I uninstall V12 the DEMO text immediately shows up next time V13 is launched.
