Vegas 14 .mp4 and .mxf importing issues

federico-paolo wrote on 1/14/2018, 12:22 PM

I have an issue with MXF files imported from my Canon XF100 camera.
These files worked perfectly when imported, but I had to remove the compoundplug.dll file in order to import MP4 files 'cause otherwise the software crashed when an MP4 file was imported.
So now if I keep the compoundplug.dll file I can read MXF files but not MP4 files, whereas if I remove the compoundplug.dll file I can read MP4 files but not MXF files (on my precious projects including these type of files it says 'media offline').
What should I do to read both?
It's doing my head in.

Any chance to share such an MXF and MP4 file?

Which build of VP14 do you use?

federico-paolo wrote on 1/14/2018, 1:13 PM

Vegas Pro 14.0
MXF files are generated from my HD Canon XF100 camera and they work fine.
MP4 files results from YouTube download or other source and can be imported without crashing only if I remove that .dll I mentioned.

These are the file properties of an .mp4 file I have an issue with, copied from MediaPlayer Classic.
This file was downloaded off YouTube.

Thanks for these infos.

At least this kind of YouTube MP4 files works fine for me in VP14. According to MediaInfo the YouTube files I tested share same properties as yours.

Which build of Vegas Pro 14 do you use?
