Vegas 14 Suite Install issue

SWS wrote on 6/12/2017, 11:06 AM

Did an install of Vegas 14 Suite and I guess the Boris CC10 plugins overrode the old install of BCC9 which was in SONY Vegas 13. Now 13 won't open ( I got the message below) I need V13 to run as well as V14 ideally.

I thought a "System Restore" would get me back to square one, but after I did that I got the same message upon trying to boot Vegas 13...

"Error: Could not load library:C\ProgramFiles\Boris FX,Inc\Lib\BCC OFX 10\BCC10_OFXFloat.dll

Please update your graphics card driver and then fully uninstall and reinstall BCC If that goes not help, pleasae contact BorisFX support"

When Vegas 13 does opens it crashes. Here's the detail message for that...

I did see some registry dll conflicts and did a clean up with Registry Mechanic but I still can't run Vegas 13 which I would like to get back to running then maybe install the Vegas 14 Suite without BCC10 or maybe figure out how to install it with help from you guys.

Any ideas on how best to proceed and at least get Vegas 13 back and running?

Thanks!

mark

well...that gave me a flashback from years ago, learned my lesson with NewBlueFX plugins and screwed up projects of NBFX (my experience):

  Fault Module:        C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins\NewBlueFX\Elements.ofx.bundle\Contents\Win64\Elements.ofx

I even remember Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005), so i think it's not BCC but NBFX, uninstall..delete :)

Thanks for the thoughts. So you're saying, using the Windows Uninstall Program utility I would.. uninstall all the old NBFX plugins? After that I guess make sure V13 is running OK. Then reinstall the NBFX's?

Yes, the plugin folders (like in Program Files/Common Files/OFX) can screw up a lot of things, as most uninstallers ( (especially NBFX) doesn't clean all the folders (again, my experience), you can uninstall it thru windows utility, I prefer IOBit Uninstaller as it also remove "leftovers", but just use Windows utility for now, also I read in your post a Registry cleaner, must be careful with that to with BCC plugins, registry cleaning is ok, but just don't "clean" it while not looking what is gonna "clean", every registry cleaner will find something, hundreds, even at a fresh install of windows...

Thanks! I'll give it a shot. Now if I still get that "Error" message about Boris 10CC should I uninstall/reinstall Boris CC9 as well?

Your welcome, my advice uninstall everything you have with OFX plugins for VP, if VP still hangs/freezes then reinstall VP to, it's not much work, my bet it is NBFX still only tho.

Well I uninstalled BorisFX, NewBlue Plugins and Vegas Pro 13. I have reinstalled Vegas 13 and just tried to boot it and still got the error code ...

I'm starting to sweat a bit as I just want 13 back before trying to install 14. Any ideas?

What were the offending files? I'm getting the same errors.

Any clues?

As I remember I had to uninstall Vegas 13, Boris and NewBlue to get things somewhat back to normal. Then re-install 13 and 14. Still lost some old NewBlue plugins in Vegas 13 though, they were pretty old I guess and couldn't get them to install again.
