Vegas 15 ver 387 Stops recording audio at random times with green bar.

Sony vegas Pro has started to cut my audio recordings at random times while recording audio. Its really upsetting specially because I dont know if it will happen at any random time. Only happens on my PC, my laptop doesnt have that issue. As I record my take the bar stops moving and it keeps recording but leaves all the other sound out. What could be wrong?

A buffer issue maybe? Try adjusting the buffer to allow for more.

I'm starting to think it's a USB issue because It happens with Audacity as well. Just stops recording or receiving signal and then the program crashes or stops recording. I will move the USB mic to another USB hub on the PC and test results. Wish me luck.

If it is a buffer issue, like if your mic has an ASIO driver and its buffer isn't set to high enough, that crash could happen regardless of which program you use to record, or it at least will cause the audio to drop out. So, if moving to another hub doesn't work, and plugging in direct doesn't either, check asio driver settings if you are using asio.

Hello ! Yes actually moving the USB cable to another port now in the front worked. 13 min in and no issues. I assume it had something to do with the USB driver on the back and the fact that I have like 9 connected in the back already.

When it comes to audio, best to not use a hub at all. Plug it straight into the PC.
