Vegas 18: How to Sync Cursor to Media Timeline for Plugins?

ren-k wrote on 5/24/2023, 10:01 PM

I've recently upgraded from Vegas 14 to Vegas 18, but I can't seem to sync my cursor to the media timeline?

For example, this was how it was in Vegas 14 (the way I want it):

But when I do the same thing in Vegas 18, it doesn't show me the effects in real-time:

What's the fix for this? Surely there's something simple I'm missing?
And this only seems to happen with plugins. It's fine on for things like Pan/Crop.

*EDIT: I know I didn't enable snapping in the recording, but even when I enable snapping, the issue persists.

Is sync to cursor is selected in the bottom left (appears to be selected in 14, appears not to be in 18).

If the Fx aren't shown in realtime regardless of cursor position and you have an NVIDIA GPU, that's your problem. See here.

See that little LOCK icon under the timeline in the EFFX window? Enable that.

@RogerS That post you linked was the solution! Thank you so much.
