Vegas 21 (steam edition) rendering stops using gpu mid way

Hello. Im using Vegas 21 to render a video. The raw footage is 8k from a sony A7RV that i transcode though handbrake to h264 for timeline smoothness (still not that great) and then switch back to the og for rendering.
My pc is a
5950X 16 Core

64 GB Ram DDR4 3600mhz

RTX 2080

When I try to render my final project, no matter if its NV, QSV or Main, or what i seem to do, its starts blazing fast and around 35/36% it drops to 0.25 fps and when i check task manager, the GPU is no longer doing ANYTHING and the cpu seems to be going by itself, and the render takes about 10 hours. From an estimated of about 50 minutes when the gpu was working. What can i do? thanks!

Which build of 21 is it? I think others have noticed performance drop-offs in long projects in build 300 and newer. I'm using 208 and haven't seen it (note that newer projects won't open in 208).

The transcoded file should be completely smooth if you used the production standard preset and limited the keyint to your framerate in the box below.

Custom PC (2022) Intel i5-13600K with UHD 770 iGPU with latest driver, MSI z690 Tomahawk motherboard, 64GB Corsair DDR5 5200 ram, NVIDIA 2080 Super (8GB) with latest studio driver, 2TB Hynix P41 SSD and 2TB Samsung 980 Pro cache drive, Windows 11 Pro 64 bit

ASUS Zenbook Intel i9-13900H with Intel graphics iGPU with latest ASUS driver, NVIDIA 4060 (8GB) with latest studio driver, 48GB system ram, Windows 11 Home, 1TB Samsung SSD.
