Vegas 22 Beat Detection not putting markers in timeline clip

sonicvision wrote on 8/11/2024, 5:01 PM

While I can get Beat Detection to show beat markers in the Trimmer, they do not show up in the related clip in timeline or when clip is added to timeline from Trimmer. I have tried this with audio from AVI and MTS video clips, WAV and MP3 files.

I would appreciate any help to get this working.

@sonicvision, It sounds like you accidentally pressed CTRL-SHIFT-K (View > Event Media Markers > Show) and toggled that setting which turned off the event markers either before or after doing the beat detection. That's the only way I can get my project to look like your screenshot. I see in your screenshot that you don't have the "Save Media Markers" button enabled in the trimmer. If you don't click that button to save the markers, then the next time you start Vegas and open your project, the markers won't be there.

@Robert Johnston thank you for your helpful reply! Before you replied I uninstalled and reinstalled Vegas to see if that would help and it seemingly did but then I imported my preferences and the markers disappeared. I looked and did see they were turned off as you mention (though this seems odd as my markers I place on some video clips in a different project have been showing all the time). Regardless you solve it for me and I am very thankful.
