Vegas 22: Crashing when rendering

Hopefully the formats it decodes can be migrated to new decoders.

Provided the transparency provided by some MOV files can be maintained. This was the great advantage of some files such as those encoded with Format ID PNG.

To my limited knowledge Quicktime is only required for MOV files where the Format ID is identified as JPEG or PNG encoded video You don't need QT for MOV H264/AVC encoded import.

Thank you all for your contribution to the subject. I have no doubt Magix is aware how important Vegas is, as a video editor.

I'm often amazed at the smart people who seem to know the technical details of Vegas sow well. This problem (Vegas crashing when attempting to render) has plagued me ever since I first installed version 22. I've tried so many things without success, pinned so many hopes that subsequent patches would fix it, that I just got into the habit of saving and closing any project that I just edited. While not a bad idea in itself, it was annoying.

Deleting the x86 folder made all the difference, and I would never have thought of it on my own. A tremendous thanks for this fix.

I just installed VP23, and the problem returned, There is no x86 in the Vegas folder to delete. I love VP23 so far, so I guess I'll live with it until someone can find a solution (if any).

Here's to hope!

@hurricane1951 This thread is about 22, not 23 (as you noticed the program architecture has changed). Can you create a new post with your hardware and details about the media and project? MediaInfo and a sample veg would be even better.

We need your help to diagnose it ("it doesn't work" doesn't bring us closer to a solution).
