Vegas 22 - files recorded in zoom are out of sync

Dave-Galegor wrote on 8/1/2024, 10:09 PM

I record events every day in zoom, and edit them in Vegas never had a problem in Vegas 20 and 21.
In Vegas 22 the audio is out of sync with the video during playback and with the finished rendered file.
Anyone else having this problem?
My hardware is a Ryzen 5950x, 128GB Ram and a 7900GRE GPU.

Are you using the optimize for 3rd party editing feature in the Zoom app? Without that I couldn't edit two tracks of zoom in VP 21 without it crashing. Without that is has very long GOPs that VEGAS works poorly with.

Optimize the recording for 3rd party video editor: Generate your cloud recording video files with a standard format that is compatible with 3rd party video editors. This may increase file size.

Good point RogerS.
I record content for this client almost everyday in zoom. Never had a problem in Vegas 21, but I did check the settings and someone did turn off Optimize the recording for a 3rd party video editor. So I plan to test it today.

Thank you for bringing that point up.

My pleasure, you wouldn't believe how frustrated I got attempting to edit Zoom files when that wasn't selected.

You can do the same conversion in post- use software like ShutterEncoder, go to convert to output codec h264 and set the GOP to the framerate in advanced settings.
