iEmby wrote on 9/9/2024, 7:42 PM

Hello guys.

recently I was working on traditional wedding project in VEGAS 22.

and I start frustrated due to video lags while playback.

but when i tried it in VP20 then it was so smooth in Best (Full)

please look at this clip.

what can be cause of this?

I don't think it is my system.

I am working on same system for version you can see.

all my footages are 1920 x 1080 @ 50fps

I'm surprised this footage wouldn't play back smoothly.

The obvious difference between 20 and 22 is a different media decoder (and reworked video engine) but generally performance has improved.

fr0sty wrote on 9/9/2024, 11:38 PM

You can always disable the new video engine by unchecking "enable direct GPU import path", or tell it to use the old decoders by selecting "legacy AVC" or "experimental HEVC" in file i/o settings, and see if it improves performance, but like Roger said, I've only noticed big performance gains in the new versions, not worse performance.

No, sir.. this time turning ON legacy mode is still not make it smooth like 20.

okay..

can the lots of footages on timeline be cause of this?

i agree with you both.. i also feel some improvements like i don't get any AMD crashes or any other random crashes.

but this is i am feeling from last few days but it did'nt affect me too much.. bcoz those were very minimal... but this time it is so frustating.

thats why i report.

So does it only do this when you increase the playback speed? When you set it to normal speed, is performance the same as earlier versions?

iEmby wrote on 9/18/2024, 2:48 AM
