Vegas 2408 24 track playback to DA88s

I can record from the da88s 24tracks at a time into vegas
just fine but while trying to play them back it seems that
some time just a couple tracks will get out of sinc of all
the others. The Da88s are the masters of the word clock. It
doesnt matter if im chasing timecode or not its still does
it.
Im running win98 on a 950 mhrz processor my hard drive is a
seagate Cheeta. So if anyone has any ideas please let me
know.

Hello Tony, I have waited to see if anyone would respond to your question...so I will take a stab at it. I
too, record from 24 tracks DA-88 into Vegas, but I have not gone the other way...I usually do final edits
in Vegas and then record the final stereo files to DAT or CD. I do not know what is causing the 'out of
sync' problem you have encountered, but I do know that if you had a 'sync device' like the MOTU
digital timepiece, you should never encounter this problem. It, like other sync devices, ensure frame
accurate sync for all tracks in your setup (24). I have talked to many engineers who are using the same
setup as us, and they all say we need a 'sync device' to ensure frame accurate sync of all tracks. You
have not mentioned if there is one in your setup, so I must conclude there is not. You can sometimes
find them for sale used at www.sweetwater.com/tradingpost aas well as other places on the net. Let
me know how you resolve this problem. MM. FM Recording.
