Hmmm, i've been using VV for quite some time and have definitely pushed capture and editing to the limits. I have an AMD K6-2 400 and I can capture and edit beautifully without any crashes using VV on WinXP.

Where/when specifically are you having crashes?

Trying to render in mpeg2 (or mpeg1), I get an illegal instruction in module "mpgvout.004".

I guess it's because of my "+" cpu, maybe my K6-2+ isn't recognised as a K6-2 and that's why the fix doesn't work???

A K6-2+ has 128Kb on-die L2 cache and supports (partially I think) the "Extended 3D Now!" technology, like Durons and Athlons, but unlike the K6-2.

Hmmm, very interesting.

Does the error list any file names? If so, try to rename the files and see if the same error occurs the next time you render.

Cheers

Do you mean I should rename the file mpgvout.004 !?!?? How is Vegas going to render if it can't access the needed files?
