I would like some thoughts on this process I have been trying out with Criag

The idea is to keep as much detail in the clip render 3 JPG seq from Vegas using curves = same / lighter/darker
Rename using free advanced Renamer
Process through Photomatix
Rename with advanced Renamer

Results 1st clip original second processed

If you want to try it out and you have Photomatix and FREE advanced Renamer the workflow is

Render 3 JPG sequences with different levels out into separate folders = number sequence 1 for each sequence

Open advanced Renamer import sequence = select ctrl A open
Select new name = increment numbers <Inc Nr:1> change to <Inc Nr:00001:3> so that is for each sequence <Inc Nr:00002:3> and <Inc Nr:00003:3>
Import will do name change in each folder
Select all from each folder and dump into new folder.
Import from new into Photomatix select your template or any of PM templates render into same folder = Photomatix will automake new folder

In new Photomatix folder delete HDR seq files
Import into Advanced Renamer and change Photomatix render sequence name to <Inc Nr:1>
Vegas will now do an image sequence import as normal.

This process will work well with Protunes format from GoPro
