When working with audio events on the timeline, I frequently have a system crash that gives me the typical windows BSOD stating that "kmixer.sys" has caused a page fault...etc..etc..etc.. I checked google and found scores of info regarding kmixer.sys as a windows system file that is the interface of the windows system to the sound board and sound drivers installed in the system. So it looks like Vegas causes some kind of incompatibility in the system that causes the crash. I have no problems editing audio in other audio applications...only when manipulating audio on the timeline. Nothing else in Vegas causes the problem and everything else works great. It only happens when working with audio events on the timeline. It doesn't happen all the time, but frequently enough that I have to go through several reboots during an editing session in Vegas. Thank God for the backup files Vegas creates. That has saved me a few times already..although I pretty regularly save anyhow. Anyone have any ideas? I have an ASUS A78NX Deluxe motherboard that has the integrated Nvidia sound system...???
