No problems--you can install it over 4C.

i just downloaded the 41.4 meg exe file. what do I do with it now??

Yes it has a kind of install shield that extracts the file.
Keep your downloaded update as backup. It's a standalone download, it's not a patch. If your ever have to re-install your OS and everything, re-install just the latest update and you're good to go.

If you mean how do you install it, go to where you placed the download and click on the setup icon or file. The wizard will come up and you just follow directions. Sorry if this is not what you meant.

I've experienced none of the problems addressed in the upgrade. If you were me, would you go ahead and update anyway?

Yes, I already have. It's best to be running the latest version of the software. By the way, I've been through several releases with Video Factory, Vegas Video 3.0, and now two with Vegas 4.0. Everyone has been flawless and I've had absolutely no problems after installation. Recommend you install the upgrade. If it causes a problem (unlikely), you can reinstall the previous version. Hope this helps.

I sure wish I had been notified of this update. Sonicfoundry always sent me a notice on updates, but I received nothing from Sony. I also had a devil of a time finding this forum (thanks to Satish for the correct url). All of my old links did not work and I was not redirected to any useful site. I hope all of the kinks get worked out, because I love Vegas!
