Is anyone successfully running Vegas 4 with an onboard CMedia chipset and NOT having playback stutters? I'm trying to determine whether my jerky firewire output (Preview Only--not Print to Tape) is because of my onboard sound chipset.
Richard, I've found that it's a hit and miss thing. If I use the CMedia as a preview and then playback on the WaveCenterPCI the CMedia freaks out and studders or displays a huge echo effect.
this thread caught my eye....Are either of you using the Hercules Muse DVD 5.1 card? I have that card in conjuction with SoundBlaster Inspire 5.1 speakers and my system doesn't play anything in discreet 5.1 at all. it mixes the front left and rear left together, same for the right side. I can adjust the peaker volume of each speaker through the little volume component, and it affects each speaker as it should....but when Dolby Digital audio signals are sent through it it doesn't seem to decode it discreetly. any advice?
I have Asus p4b533-E and has the c-media. I guess I do have stutters as you, not duing print to tape but not to the degree it has ever bothered me. Is there any way to disable it to test if you still get stutter.
