We are editing a video that we 'Cookie Cut' in a talking head shot. There are about 5 of these talking head shots in the 3minute video. We replace 2 of these shots so as to 'customize' it for our customers. We then render to mpeg1 and put it on a business card CD.
We notice that the talking head shots that stay in the video are nice & clean but the new shots that we edit in are 'cartoonish' looking in comparison. Sometimes the colors are exagerated. The picture is not as sharp. The shots are way brighter than they looked on the timeline.
All video was shot on XL1 - PD150 - DVX100/24P.
If you would like to see the video for reference, let me know. I will upload it and give you guys the URL.
At current we edit and render to mpeg1 via the VCD preset. Should we be rendering to Full Frame/Resolution AVI then encoding with CleanerXL to mpeg1? Or render to NTSC DV preset then encode to mpeg1? Or is it cool to render directly to mpeg1 from the project timeline?
Any suggestions?
Thanks in Advance,
Lamont
