Vegas 4 screenshots (honest ones)

Spot|DSE wrote on 1/7/2003, 11:33 AM
Hey all,
Since someone leaked screen shots, SOFO has given us permission to post a 'real' screen shot that they've approved. You can see it at http://www.sundancemediagroup.com/vegas.htm
There is more info there as well.
Thanks to the SOFO marketing dept for allowing us to share. Since some other turkey already did.

SoFo's product lineup has never been more complete(OK, they need to bring back Siren, but apart from that), and it just keeps getting better!!
Here's hoping SoFo makes the RIGHT decision and sells MediaSite and goes back to it's roots. Talk about a strong product line-up!
Where's that guy that won the 300 million$ ?
Is he a registered SoFo software user? Somebody get him on the phone NOW!!

What??? Dude, you know my shots was honest. Just cuz I'm not a beta testor doesn't mean I can't know Vegas Video 4 rocks.

Spot,

I remember on another thread you were discussing the possibilities of webcasting your program at the conference on February 18th. Can't afford to go out there but would probably be able to talk my company into purchasing a webseat. Any new info on that? You know SoFo has the products to do this.

Thanks,
Al

You're new here, so let me explain something. What you did was wrong, plain and simple. You broke an unwritten law. Kind of like moving over to the left when someone is merging onto the highway so he can have room. There isn't a written law telling you to do it, but you do it anyway.
It's up to SoFo to give details, not you.
SoFo deleted your post yesterday. Did you notice anyone else bring it up since? I have the screenshot saved on my PC. I didn't post a link to it after your thread was deleted. It's just not done, that's all.
Now you know.

PS: It's not Vegas Video 4, it's just Vegas 4. :)

Well written MyST.

SPOT, could you post this on the Vegas-Audio forum?
I'd do it, but it's not my place to do it. ;)

SOFO has the products, we might not have the manpower. We're still working on it. We need someone to set up the mediasite package, but we're examining just doing an HTTP casst..

Thanks for the little preview SPOT. Did anyone else notice that the audio tracks have a representation of a square room with 5 speakers instead of a left-right slider?

Yeah, I noticed the 5 speaker layout.

I wonder if *this* could work? (and pardon me if this already exists in some other package.) Imagine adding an audio envelope that dictates *where* the audio is. Maybe you have a little "dot" or something that is moveable and exists on that 5 speaker layout window. Move this "dot" toward the right speaker and the sound is balanced to the right. Move the "dot" toward the left, and the sound is balanced to the left. Add points to this envelope and change the balance and fade at will.

This doesn't give you discrete channels, but could allow you to easily make use of all 5 channels. Of course, you could add other audio tracts and specify the channel for each track.

I can't wait for the release of V4. :)

Download the ACID 4.0 demo. You will get a chance to test out that "room of speakers" on an audio track....and everything it can do.
