Vegas does not support surround mixing natively. What version of
Vegas do you have?

it is at a friends house, i am not sure. i was just asking because we
were working on a project. if it is not supported why is it there? i
right click on the buss, go to properties and somewhere in there there
is a surround 5.1 selection which changes the buss letters on the
tracks to surround panning options, like in soft encode. what gives???

It must be a warz version or your friend hacked the registry. We
started working on a 5.1 version of Vegas a long time ago. This code
is disabled in the application. The only time we have seen this
problem show up is with illegal versions of Vegas. It is possible
through messing around with Vegas' registry to also get this
behavior.

Bottom line: We don't support 5.1 in any offical release of Vegas. It
will cause totatly unpredicted behavior. If your friend is a
regsiterd user of Vegas, then have him uninstall and reinstall Vegas.
If he experiances any problems with this, please e-mail me directly.
