Vegas 5 Track Motion?

I'm trying to do Track Motion in Vegas 5, and am having problems. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I expect there's some option that is getting set that causes the this, but I can't figure out what.

When I first start working with it, everything works as I expect. Then it seems to quit working. Any changes I make in the track motion control window do not affect the video. The only way I can get it working again is to delete the track and start over... I haven't been able to figure out if there's something I changed, or if it just randomly starts doing this. I'm about to go back to Vegas 4 to finish a project.

Any ideas?

Same thing happens with Event Pan/Crop. I just dropped one (still) onto the timeline, clicked Event Pan/Crop, and everything looks fine. I have the orienatation "F", and control handles around the frame. I dropped a 2nd still image onto the timeline on the same track adjacent to the first image, click the Pan/Crop button, and no control handles, no "F". What's going on? I didn't do _anything_ to this 2nd image.

Please help!

Make sure the correct keyframe track has the focus in 3D Motion or Event Pan/Crop. Both of these have multiple tracks now and giving the wrong one focus will definitely confuse you. This spooked me a couple of times in Pan/Crop when the "F" just disappeared. Then I realized that the Mask track had the focus and, of course, mask doesn’t use the "F". Clicking on the Position track brought the "F" back again.

JohnnyRoy, thank you! That was it. I might be able to finish this project by tomorrow, afterall. It sure confused me - dropping a still on the track and opening Pan/Scan the first time, the Position track had focus. Doing exactly the same thing the 2nd time, the Mask track had focus. I'm sure before with track motion, I probably clicked the mask track and didn't realize I'd done it.
