Vegas 527 hard crash after rendering, render is good

I've just finished 2 pretty intense projects with the last version of Vegas (before 527) and before getting the Windows 10 2004 update. Everything was working fine, and after finishing those two projects and seeing that Vegas had a new version that seemed to address the problems introduced in the latest W10 update, I went ahead and updated both Vegas and W10. Vegas consistently crashes immediately after a render. I've rendered several different types of files with the exact same result. Hard crash, have to end task in Task Manager. The render is always good, so that seems a little odd, but... Nothing different here on the hardware end but I did notice that with the W10 2004 update I did get a few updates from AMD for my chipset, I believe. Here is the detail from the crash:

I just wanted to report that I fixed this issue in case anyone else can benefit from my pain. I was just trying different things with no success when I noticed that my audio device was set to Realtek Asio. Set that back to Sound Mapper and that was it. Strange, Realtek asio was working fine for a while, the reason I switched to it in the first place was to avoid a different issue, that has been with Vegas for many years, after rendering (using certain codecs) the timeline would not play and I would have to switch to a different audio device to be able to play the timeline. That problem went away with the Asio driver. After updating to the latest version of Vegas and the latest updates to Windows is when my new rendering issue appeared.
