Well, I've got something...

I want one(or more) of the Cell chips that will be in PS3 to put in a new video editing workstation. It is supposed to have the equivalant of 8 cpu cores.

That will help solve the HDV rendering time concerns. Talking about faster than real time rendering.

I want one ASAP!

only if it is windows compatible. I'd prefer a windows Os that supports 8 duel core opteron's. Expensive, but fast. :)

The "OS" is new, I understand. Cell is more than a chip, it is an entire architecture.

I believe it can emulate any x86 machine (Windows, Linux), and do it very, very fast. I think at IBM's demo they had multiple instances of different OS's running. On one physical machine. Each instance much faster than anything on the market.
