Check the firewall and instructions in the network render section.

Then on each machine, look at the Sony network render service screen.

Each machine should have the other's IP address (and not its own) on the RENDERERS tab. Should also see status of each as READY

Check MAPPINGS and see that it is correct (I don't have anything listed in my setup, but you might)

Check options tab and make sure ENABLE RENDERING is checked

Browse the LOG file to see what has been happening.

The main thing is to see that other machines on the network are seen as READY on the RENDERERS tab

Thanks for the suggestion.

Unfortunately, I get that far. Both machines see each other however, when I start a render job, the status on the host (machine that starts the render job) shows the job as "Queued", and stays that way. It never starts rendering on either machine.

Check through the logs. They will likely tell you whats happening. If they still just say 'queued'.

The dialog screen log only shows minimal info. Check the full log on the host. Here is a sample to where the full log is located.

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Sony\Vegas\6.0\VegSrvLogs\computername.53704

The bolded and italic text will be different for your setup. IMS, 53704 is the port #.

If that doesn't give you the reason why it's not starting, I'd send a support request to Sony.

It is also my understanding that Network Render supports only AVI. Are you attempting to render to MPEG?
Don't quote me. You may want to do a search. I had the same problem so I know there are quite a few threads.
