Is there such a thing as a script that would take each audio event in Vegas, then nornalize each event in Sound Forge(8)..thus having each Vegas timeline event with a Take 2, normalized audio event?
Is this even possible?
This would be a HUGE timesaver for me if there were such a thing.
Although Vegas can normalize on the peaks, it's best to normalize on the average RMS value. However, it's also potentially more damaging if you don't pay attention to what you're doing. Sound Forge can normalize either on the peak value or RMS value. Peak value is easy.
Normalizing in Vegsa only allows peak value.
In Forge, set the value to -20 or -18dB and you'll be most happy, most likely.
This is one feature of Forge that I wish Vegas had. A script to export from Vegas to Forge, normalizing at XX RMS average value, would be wonderful. However, not everyone has Sound Forge. This is one major incentive alone, to owning Forge, IMO. Maybe that's why Sony hasn't offered this in Vegas.
