Installed the 6b demo, but just after the splash screen it crashes the entire machine?

Using XP MCE SP2 , .net 1.1, any suggestions to track this down.
I tried uninstalling 6b and related apps, but same result on reinstall.

I checked the vegas60.log file in the vegas directory but its empty.
